چکیده
In the present study, enhanced wet oxidation of excess sludge from pharmaceutical wastewater by NaOH as an alkaline homogeneous catalyst was investigated. The experiments were carried out in a stainless-steel batch autoclave reactor. highest volatile suspended solids (VSS) removal rate, 95.2%, achieved at 260 °C within 60 min with initial oxygen pressure 1.0 MPa and 0.5 g·L−1. Simultaneously, chemical demand (COD) rate 57.3% reached. increase fatty acids (VFAs) demonstrated that degradation greatly accelerated NaOH. Interestingly, production acetic acid, intermediate by-product generated organic compounds, increased significantly. These results illustrated is promising for utilization liquid carbon source treatment wastewater.

متن کاملWet Air Oxidation of Waste Water Sludge
Working with Wetox Ltd, a lab scale plant for the continuous oxidation of wastes from municipal water treatment and industrial processes has been developed at IRL using wet air oxidation (WAO). The WAO process can be used to significantly reduce the chemical oxygen demand (COD) of waste sludge and to recover components such as aluminium and phosphate. WAO requires high temperature (240 – 300 °C...
